SCHEDULE OF CLASSES in Wisconsin for 2013-2014Locations
FALL SESSION 2013
TOPICS AND LESSONSVisions of the Invisible Grades 3-5
What is more common than air, water, sound, and light? And yet what could be better example s of God's daily provision for his creation? Using weekly hands-on activities, students will discover how water molecules, wave lengths, and wobbly strings make life both possible and enjoyable. Each is encouraged to do this at home, and they may even teach parents why the sky is blue. Neighborhood Natural Wonders Grades 6-8
Following the theme, to observe, enjoy, and understand the harmony and purpose of God's creation, each student will learn how to view the works of God with fresh eyes and minds. The eating habits of a paramecium and the design of a cup plant stem will display a divine wisdom found in things that are small, in things that are strong, and in all things beyond.
WINTER SESSION 2014
TOPICS AND LESSONSGrades 3-5 Magnetism, Electricity and Motors
Magnetic fields and electric currents may be invisible, but their effects and uses are not. Through safe demonstrations and experiments, students will discover how electricity is a valuable tool of God's creation. They will also learn how to read diagrams, generate graphs, and understand a power that always existed and now is a rapidly growing part of their world. Grades 6-8 Dissection, Cells, and Physical & Chemical Changes
God designed and created both the living and the nonliving parts of this world. This session of classes follows the path from a close examination of one of his creatures, through the miracle of cell structure, and finally to the very molecules and atoms that make it all possible. Each student will be able to say that indeed God is Lord of all.
SPRING SESSION 2014
TOPICS AND LESSONSGrades 3-5 Levers, Machines, Metrics & Soils
Mathematics is seldom called pretty, but the study of levers and machines will reveal a beauty that only God can create. His order is also on display in the symmetry of the metric system, and his provision for life is demonstrated through even the common worm. From digits to dirt, each child will learn new ways to proclaim his name. Grades 6-8 Heat, Atmosphere, Birds & Flowers
The heavens declare in more ways than in a golden dawn. The warmth of the sun and its application to the living world reminds us of God's enduring care, while the colors, habits and designs of birds show his love for diversity and purpose. Add to that the simple enjoyment of backyard flowers, and each st udent will learn to experience the works of God daily.
